CACTUS POWER WOMEN IN AGRICULTURE.jpg

FROM CACTUS TO FUTURE ENERGY

THE POWER OF CACTUS

Cactus Power is developing the biomass foundation for cactus-based bioenergy, connecting international cactus supply with technology partners, research institutions, and future biogas projects.

Cactus Biomass Supply

Before energy can be produced, biomass must be grown, collected, processed and supplied with consistency. Cactus Power’s strength begins at the source: access to cactus biomass, agricultural knowledge, local production networks and hands-on experience processing nopal prickly pear cactus.

Cactus Biomass Supply

Access to cultivated cactus biomass from our own production, nearby agricultural areas, and international cactus-growing regions, connecting bioenergy projects with closer, more efficient feedstock sources for long-term operational viability.

Agricultural Knowledge

Hands-on experience in cultivation, harvesting, handling and processing, with practical knowledge of cactus diseases, pest management and crop resilience strategies across different growing regions.

Feedstock Strategy

Ability to identify, evaluate, and structure cactus biomass sources according to project location, volume needs, logistics, and energy application, including the selection of the most suitable cactus variety for each bioenergy process.

Industrial Readiness

A foundation in processing, logistics and commercialization, combined with a broad international network of industry, government and institutional contacts to help accelerate pilot development, operational efficiency and future scale-up.

The Bioenergy Pathway

In future cactus-based bioenergy systems, nopal biomass can be prepared and introduced into anaerobic digestion processes, where organic matter is converted into biogas. This biogas can then be used for heat and electricity or upgraded into biomethane, while the remaining digestate can support biofertilizer applications:

  • Cactus Biomass: Organic material from cultivated nopal.

  • Anaerobic Digestion: A biological process that transforms organic matter into biogas.

  • Biogas / Biomethane: A renewable energy pathway for heat, electricity or upgraded gas applications.

  • Biofertilizer Potential: Digestate from the process may support circular nutrient use in agriculture.

Feedstock Assessment & Local Energy Models

Cactus Power connects cactus biomass supply with the right technology, research, project development, and investment partners.

We collaborate with biodigester developers, biogas operators, universities, energy companies, municipalities, agricultural producers, and investors to evaluate cactus biomass under real operating conditions, including feedstock preparation, co-digestion opportunities, methane potential, logistics, digestate use, and economic viability.

If you are developing biogas, biomethane, anaerobic digestion or biomass projects, Cactus Power can be a strategic partner in cactus biomass sourcing, agricultural coordination and pilot development.
